Popular Query about WordPress Hosting:

If you guys have domain hosting for free, please tell me.

Otherwise, all I need is a free subdomain webhosting somewhere in Asia that supports the WordPress blogging software. People told me that the WordPress software works best with a hosting in my country.

For some reason, I can’t upload pictures and archives to WordPress because of this. They told me that hosting in a far away country has some problems so I’m searching for a provider that is located near me.

The requirements for WordPress (I need) are:
MySQL
PHPMyAdmin
FTP

Expert Answer

You know how people find it frustrating to choose a website hosting and ended up jumping from one web host to another? They spend more time moving their website than spending time to make money from their business. Do not be one of them.

If you are just beginning to your web endeavor, and do not want to spend that much, you can sign up for free WordPress blog hosting service at WordPress.com and use their free subdomain.

However, if you want MySQL, PHPMyAdmin and FTP service, then no free hosting can be recommended. You know what they say, you get what you pay for.

Free hosting though is free have non-existent support, low diskspace and limited bandwidth. They also have limited PHP and database support which aren’t ideal for hosting web applications such as WordPress or any e-commerce application.

You’re not going to have reliability using a free host. They usually give you that free plan as a bait to get you to switch to the premium hosting plan. If the free hosting is so good, you would not move to the paid plan and they would not survive by giving only freebies.

Do You Need a Local Hosting Company?

You do not really need to have use a hosting in your own country. To save money, you should consider the web hosts from the US because they are way cheaper. The loading speed of your pages are also not significantly faster, even if you host locally.

Alternatively, if you want to use your own domain name and start to monetize your WordPress site. Use a premium web hosting provider instead. With premium hosting, you can install WordPress easily with their one-click installer like Fantastico and QuickInstall. Aside from that, you can enjoy unlimited webspace and bandwidth, full php and database support and 24/7 customer support. Premium web hosting services are advertisement-free.

If you are serious about websites either for personal or your business, don’t go to free web hosting as they are usually not reliable and you may end up losing all your hard work. Free web hosts usually put advertisements on your websites and it could be annoying.

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months’ time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.

    Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/

They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well.
Visit the site to check details.

I don’t think you’ll find free as WordPress needs a database at the back of it and most free hosting doesn’t offer this.

I’ve just set up a WordPress blog at http://www.web-a-week.com and I had to find some hosting. I didn’t find free but what I did find was hosting for up to 5 domains for $9.99 a YEAR! It’s good hosting too – WordPress can be installed at the touch of a button and loads of other free software and scripts.

I blogged about it at http://www.web-a-week.com/2007/09/05/finding-a-domain-name-and-cheap-web-hosting/

The host I found is: http://thinkbiz.mangohost.hop.clickbank.net/
