Favorite Web Hosting Service in the Philippines

Mar 6th, 2011

Do you know how quite a number of website owners want to have an unlimited hosting service (in terms of webspace and bandwidth) but got burned in the end?

Many new website owners always want to have the cheapest price for their hosting. They are blinded with the cheap promise (i.e price) by web hosts, thus they get scammed easily for unreliable hosting plans. They got the cheapest web hosting without even reviewing the reputation of the web host. Thus, this always end up in getting web hosting service that sucks.

Typical Hosting Query by Philippines Business Owners: I’m looking for a reliable web hosting service in the Philippines.

The hosting plan need to support PHP5 and MySQL databases. Along with at least one parked domain, and email. I need at least 5GB of Webspace, and 100GB bandwidth/month.

How to Ensure You Get the Best Hosting Service

In order to get the best hosting service, you need to identify first your web hosting requirements. Since you need unlimited web hosting service, you can use shared web hosting plan, dedicated server hosting plan or a virtual private server(vps) hosting plans depending on your needs. If your a beginner, you can try on shared hosting plans and upgrade later on to dedicated hosting service or vps hosting.

After you have identified your web hosting requirements, you can begin picking out candidates for your best web hosting company. But before you sign up with them, make sure that they can match or even exceed your web hosting requirements and have a good reputation in terms of their web hosting service, customer support and customer reviews.

How to Get the Cheapest Rates In Your Favorite Web Hosting Company

In order to get the cheapest rates, you have to search on the web if they have available coupon codes or discount promotions for new clients. Usually, their official site will often post the announcements but make sure to get a verified working coupon code that includes the biggest discount as far as possible. However,  be warn that most cheapest web hosting plan are for more than a year or years of single prepayment so be sure to check the rate carefully.

What We Recommend

When it comes to choosing the best web hosting company, your location is not important so long as your web hosting provider can host your site globally with good server uptime.

Justhost, Hostgator, iPage, and Hostmonster all offer what you’re asking for…but there’s only one that offers considerably more advertising credits than the rest. iPage offers you $450 in advertising credits with the right coupon, followed by Fatcow with $125 and the rest.

I know some people recommend Hostgator, but I HATE their support after finding out some of them can’t even answer the most basic questions. They’re also not the cheapest host out there.

Personally, I’d go with Greenville (cheapest at only 9c/day and great server uptime…been using them for a few months now, great support too), iPage (because of the advertising credits), or maybe Justhost. I’ve tried them all over the years, and they’re all pretty reliable and similar in terms of service…so I tend to go for the cheapest nowadays, which at the moment is Greenville. They all offer unlimited bandwidth, unlimited web space, unlimited databases (important), and unlimited emails as well as a great sitebuilder…as well as easy PEAR scripts, 1-click WordPress installation, and of course a free domain. And of course you can park domains 😉

Anyway, whenever I’m looking for a new host, I check out coupons. Found out a lot of them are outdated on websites. The most up to date coupons I found were on a Twitter stream of a guy called "WebhostingD", he seems to update the coupons daily and has all major hosts. I’ve been using his stream for my past 5 hosts and was always happy with the deal I got. I’ll post the link bellow. Make sure to check out his/her Twitter stream once you know which host you want to go for. I think WebhostingD’s still featuring the latest 50%OFF offer from iPage, and when I signed up with Greenville a little over 2 months ago, he also had a cool coupon with them.

Word of warning: Be careful with coupons and shared hosting prices. Hostgator’s "first month only 1c" offer is crap compared with the offers of other hosts, it just sounds nice, but if you do the math, it only saves you 1 month…which is a lot worse than iPage’s 50%OFF forever offer.

    IMPORTANT:

NEVER pay more than $4.5/mo for shared hosting, which means Bluehost is overpriced even with a coupon. Not sure why the guy above me recommends them, the other hosts are at least as good in terms of service, and do it for a lot cheaper.

You said your budget is $10/mo at most, with Greenville you’d pay less than $3/mo if that WebhostingD fellow still features that coupon. I’ve been using them for a while now, and never had a major issue. The one time I had a a slight permission issue, support fixed it within 10min and I didn’t have to do anything. Very convenient and friendly 🙂

I posted the link with the coupons I’ve been using bellow…you don’t need a twitter account to follow the stream.

I use hostgator.com. For 9.95 a month you can unlimited domains and you can park unused domains. They have email with the hosting package too. If you pay for a year or more in advance you can get hosting even cheaper. Go to their website and check it out for yourself.

You’re in luck. Shared web hosting has come down in price considerably the last few years. With your requirements of PHP5 and MySqL, I’d go with Hostgator. They have VPS and dedicated server services as well, so if your site takes off you can move up the hosting ladder.

    Good luck!
